What does "Bethesda" mean?
The Pool of Bethesda is one of two sites in the city of Jerusalem where Jesus performed miracles. Interestingly enough, both of these sites took place next to a pool—a reminder that Jesus is indeed the “living water” of healing. At the Pool of Bethesda, Jesus performed a miracle of healing that’s now recording in the Book of John.
When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” JOHN 5:8
Hebrew: “house of mercy” or “house of grace.”
Counseling is help and hope given by one person to another person or group.
When our thinking doesn't line up with God's thinking, we need to change our thinking!
Isaiah 40:8 says, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." We are called by God not only to "carry each others' burdens, but also to encourage one another and build each other up." Galatians 6:2;Thessalonians 5:11.
Biblical Counseling is an approach to counseling that uses the Bible to address the issues in the lives of individuals, couples, and families. Hebrews 4:12 says, "The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
Christ-Centered Counseling is giving advice, hope, and encouragement to others based on biblical truth while relying on Christ to provide the power for change.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
